UTEBAGUA’s Mechanical Joint fittings have been designed for getting a perfect watertighness in the junction with both ductile iron pipes and special pieces of pipelines according to standards EN 545 and ISO 2531.

Their operating principle consists in an element which compress a elastic gasket by the action of several bolts of torque. The watertight seal of the water chamber is managed by tightening these bolts due to the force generated by the gasket on the surfaces of tube and Mechanical Joint socket. The elements which compose the Mechanical Joint are:

• Joint mechanical socket of special piece / fitting.
• Pressure gland.
• Trapezoidal elastic gasket.
• Tightening bolt with closed lug nut.
